Boxing

The Panel has been keen to support contact and non contact boxing initiatives. Battersea Fire Station proposed a local project which would provide non contact boxing in Battersea. The Panel funded the trial course, purchased the kit and paid for volunteer Firemen to be trained to deliver it. Funding has since been found from other sources, however, the Panel remains the fallback when insufficient resources are available. There is a second similar boxing project run in the area which is also part funded by the Panel.

This style of boxing project teaches young people to control aggression, keeps them fit and alert and gives them a forum to develop their techniques and show them off to their parents and friends at “open events”.
